Does this mean we’re able to get Demon Child 2 weeks(ish) early if we come for the signing? I’d be coming anyway but thats just even more incentive! Can’t wait!

  2. Michelle says:

Kylie, I have now read all seven books four times! I just can’t wait to read Demon Child. Thanks for writing it and for opening my eyes to this amazing world. Imagine if it were true ….

  3. Riya says:

Will you be giving us a sneak peek of the first chapter of Demon Child like you did for all the other books in the series?

  4. Micheal J Okeefe says:

Your Sydney appearance is the day I come back from Melbourne! Too bad, I don’t get back from Melbourne until the late afternoon. This saddens me to no end. I hope I get supernova tickets.
    Regards, Michael.

What a shame… I live in Israel so no way I can come to Australia… I can’t wait for the book to come out and it drives me nuts the time it takes to get delivered.

    • kylie-admin says:

I’m driving you nuts? I’ll take that as a win!

    • hana says:

I agree, I live in the US so its not that bad since good series will eventually get here, but waiting is like tacking on another year for overseas books.

Darn these wide oceans!!! John, go swim these manuscripts to the other publishing houses. Stat! Work those flippers!

  6. Michael O'Neill says:

Cool I got a gift voucher for rosemarys awhile back I can use that to get some more literature at the same time 🙂

    • kylie-admin says:

Rosemary and her staff are the BEST. Her little shop is an absolute treasure and I love going there!

  7. hana says:

There are over 3 different release dates for Demon Child in for the US on this website alone. Which is the real date?

I met you last year at supanova in Perth, so glad I’m going to the Sydney one this year and will get to see you again. Not that I’m complaining, because it’s actually really awesome but why are your books released in Australia so much earlier than in the rest of the world? Just curious why publishers do this instead of releasing them at the same time all over the world.

    • kylie-admin says:

Hi Nicole, The decision on when the books are released overseas is entirely up to the publishers who bought the world rights – in this case Harper-Voyager US/UK, who I don’t actually have much contact with. They have to make decisions about release dates that are the best for their areas – building pre-release interest and orders is important – so they seem to be delaying the release of my books over there to generate more buzz. I know everybody’s buying them from Australia with ‘free international shipping’ anyway, and I can only hope that ebook sales on release in the US generate the sort of buzz that we’re looking for! I personally believe that the whole ‘world divided into separate regions for books and not available unless released in that region’ thing is becoming more and more irrelevant, and will probably disappear altogether in the near future.

      • Nicole says:

Thanks for answering, that’s really interesting. It always confused and slightly depressed me when release dates were so different all over the world, especially as we in Australia usually had to wait so I love knowing that we get it first 🙂 but hopefully the rest of the world doesn’t have to wait too long as they all seem eager for it.

Was very excited today walking through the book store to see that Demon Child had been realeased!! I thought it wasn’t on sale till June and was content to wait until supanova to buy it, but once I stumbled across it there was no chance of waiting 🙂 very excited but forcing myself to finish the book I’m on before I start it (power reading here I come!)

Anyway thank you for such a fabulous story, nothing else has quite captured my attention since the release of Harry Potter when I was a kid. Can’t wait to see you in Sydney, and hopefully get another autograph it makes my books even more special.

Thank you and see you soon 🙂 (not a stalker just very excited hehe)

This is awesome news! Will you be coming to Perth for a signing at any time? I’d love to know! I’d fly to Sydney if I wasn’t so short on cash. A pity, really. But still, I am looking forward to reading Demon Child!

    • kylie-admin says:

I’d fly to Perth if I wasn’t so short on cash, so high-five, Heather! Being a popular author in Australia isn’t a guarantee of wealth, so I rely on my fantastic publishers to arrange author visits for me – they arranged the Perth Supanova last year. Hopefully if the books are more popular overseas, I’ll have the resources to be able to visit Perth more often!

      • Heather says:

Haha, high five indeed! I’ve been telling all my international friends to read you books, so hopefully they have and find then interesting. I almost went to that. I was so disappointed when I didn’t go after seeing your name on the author list. I’d love to know when you’re over next! We can totally swap reading lists, lol.

A friend is going to Sydnova and I’m getting him to come meet you .. and grab a copy of Demon Child. It’s going to cost me my Jim Butcher signed pre-release Skin Game, but I think that would be worth it. (I’m only on book 4 of the Dresden Files anyway.) 😉

    • kylie-admin says:

If it’s any consolation, here’s me with Jim Butcher at the Gold Coast Supanova putting on our derpy author faces (Polaroid taken by Trudi Canavan) Me and Jim Butcher

      • Jason says:

Lol. Jim was great. I’ve also met Trudi at various MelbNovas … and gotten novels signed. It’s great getting such kick ass novels from Aussies.

  12. Rebecca says:

    Hi Kylie

Are you doing any signings in Melbourne???

I already have 4 signed books (plus one of your hardbacks) but would love to get the rest of my set signed!

  13. Amanda says:

    Hi Kylie

You may not be aware but currently on iBooks if you preorder demon child the delivery date is May 19. So for those that can’t wait (like me) for June 1st and can’t make it to a signing this is another way to get the book early.

    • kylie-admin says:

      Good to know, thanks Amanda!

      • Amanda says:

Not a problem! Normally I’d wait the two weeks biting my nails but since dark serpent ruined my collection (which I only see as a good thing, trade paperback means more money has been invested in you because you’ve become more popular, which means hopefully more contracts for you and more stories for your fans. It’s a win win!) I’ll be impatient and buy it. But then being an ex bookstore employee I’ll probably end up buying the hard copy to add to the piles around my bedroom

  14. Krystal says:

So excited to come to your signing at Rosemary’s Today!! I can’t wait!

  15. Kelly says:

I guess some ended up on shelves early? I got a copy today in Perth and we had no pre-release signings. I can’t wait to read it.

  16. Naomi says:

Please, please, please come to Adelaide! Maybe to do signings for Book 9 – hint hint! It’s unfair if Adelaide is the only city you haven’t visited!

  17. Charles says:

From USA, Ordered Demon Child from QBD and it arrived yesterday. GREAT BOOK!!!!! I just couldn’t wait for the USA release. Same thing happened with Dark Serpent. Fantastic story. An hints on Book 9?????

  18. Stacey says:

    • kylie-admin says:

I don’t know when I’ll finish book 9, at the moment I’m busy with my research at the University of Queensland. As soon as that is sorted, it’s full steam ahead with ‘Black Jade’.
