Me: Those clouds look like a Constable painting
Daughter: Meh (But she waited while I took a photo anyway)
April Update
I am friends with Robin Hobb on Facebook, and we spent a fun weekend at a Supanova about ten years ago. I asked her for a cover quote for ‘Minds of Sand and Light’ and she read it even though she had COVID – and has provided me with some cover quotes that the publishers will use, but she also said this about the book:
“Thanks for sending this enjoyable and fascinating read my way. I hope it reaches its audience and has the success it well deserves!”
QWC Self-Publishing Full Day: May 6th
I’m busy preparing for a full-day workshop for the Queensland Writers Centre. I used my tech skills to self-publish the Dragon Empire books and the novellas, so I’ve put together all the tools and knowledge that a writer needs to publish on a variety of platforms. This will be the first time that I’ve done a full day of the course – and for the first time I’ll have the time to demonstrate the self-publishing process – from start to finish. I’m self-publishing a book that will be called (heh) ‘One I Prepared Earlier’.
My mentees with Writer’s Victoria are having a great time, we’re three of five months in and I’m really enjoying reading their work. I hope WV have me back in future to do this again.
Oz Comic-Con Adelaide and Melbourne
I hope I have enough books for Oz Comic-Con in June! I’ll be in Adelaide and Melbourne the first week in June, and YES I will have pre-release copies of ‘Minds of Sand and Light’ for Adelaide fans. I don’t do Supanova, but Sydney and Brisbane do not despair, I’ll be doing the Oz Comic-Con shows there in September. Cannot wait!
